Day -27 : OHANA : St. Anthony to Portloe

23.03.2022: It was warm and sunny – the Spring has arrived. Whoopee…

After two days of intensive walking I considered to have a smaller section today. So I went to a National Trust parking place (where I thought that there would be one) and realized that I was not able to park there anywhere with my van. Hence, I switched back to my original plan and went to the NT parking at St. Anthony’s Head. It was a nice view from there towards Falmouth and St. Mawes.

I started my walk in direction of Portloe where my little friend the foldable bike hopefully was still waiting for me (yes it was). So, after 20km walking I had to got 15km on my bike, up and down and up and down.

While I was walking I thought of my family and I thought of a nice present I got when I left for this SWCP adventure. It is a picture with many lovely faces and the word OHANA, which means family. So I could not resists and get in touch with some of my family using video telephony. And it worked, even at the coastline. Sometimes you do not even have E on your phone, not reception at all. But yesterday at least a couple of minutes was possible to see each other. That was a warm inner feeling, along with the warming sun on my skin.

I am looking forward to have my family here in Cornwall in about 3 weeks for a couple of days. Yes, I have to admit I miss them more that I thought I would. The good thing is that my days are really packed with activities. If I would have to calm down for a week I might end up in a kind of panic mode and would get back home. But doing the path as main activity and knowing to get the support and backing from my family is such a wonderful and warm feeling. I am proud of my family.

Below are some pictures of the coastline. Please click to enlarge if you want. Also below are my Komoot Tour Details, the Relive Summary Video and a Timewarp Video.
